Waites Concrete located in Talladega, Al. is pleased to have the opportunity to service your redi-mix needs. Please allow us to take this chance to introduce our company to you.
Waites Concrete was opened in 1986 by brothers John and Dan Waites. The Waites Bros. had already been in the construction business including heavy grading and concrete finishing work on Wal-Mart's, Kmart's and other large shopping centers since 1975. John Waites prior to entering into construction partnership with his brother had worked in several redi-mix plants for Alabama Power on dam projects such as Harris dam in nearby Wedowee. Dan had also been involved in concrete prior to joining John; however he had been doing flat work on Kmart shopping centers.
In 1986 after 11 years of traveling the southeast doing grading and flat work, the two decided to retire from flatwork and open a redi-mix operation in their hometown of Talladega. Since it's open in 1986 Waites Concrete has grown steadily every year. Some of their larger local redi-mix jobs have included Redman Homes, Talladega Wal-Mart Super Center, Lincoln High School Football Stadium, Munford High School Football Stadium, Scot Industries, Tyson feed towers which consisted of several large pours including a non stop 24 hour pour that lasted for 14 days straight as the towers rose from the ground, and the ever continuing growth of Talladega Super Speedway.
Also we operate a state of the art totally computerized McNellius Concrete Plant also certified by ALDOT and ACI. Material bins that are separated and on poured concrete floors safeguarding from any containments that could be picked up off of the bare ground is also not only one of our other quality assurances but one that we are sure the customer will not find at any of our competitors plants.
Thank you, for your time and interest in Waites Concrete and let me also extend a personal invitation to any customer who wishes to have a tour of our operations.

Jim was a Alabama State Certified Concrete Batchman, Concrete Plant Manager, PADI Diving Instructor and a certified and licensed Gunsmith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but most of all, he was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was a very knowledgeable person in many different aspects of life. His wife Wanda is still with the company. He is remembered and greatly missed by all that knew him. But, we must thank God that Jim is in a better place in which I hope all are making their plans to be there and see once again, "Big Jimmy."
